Healthcare Cybersecurity Trends: Risk Management Response Preparations

Healthcare Cybersecurity Trends: Risk Management Response Preparations
In 2017, there were 477 reported healthcare breaches which affected over 5.5 million patient records. In the fourth quarter 2017, the mean breach size was 6,048 healthcare records and the median breach size was 1,666 records. During the first quarter 2018, the mean breach size was 13,945 records and the median breach size was 1,922 records. During the first quarter 2018, 1,073,766 individuals had their Personal health Information exposed, viewed, or stolen compared to 520,141 individuals in the first quarter 2017.

Preparing to react to cybersecurity threats helps healthcare organizations to develop confidence in their cybersecurity posture. This confidence is essential in order for organizations to put their best foot forward in dealing with regulators and stakeholders regarding concerns over any healthcare cybersecurity incident. If this confidence isn't built prior to a incident, it will publicly appear the healthcare organization is unprepared and was caught "loose-footed" when a breach occurs.

When an event occurs, healthcare organizations don't want to just at that moment try to determine how to react.
Organizations need to plan now for the day that an event happens. The most important thing a healthcare organization can do now in this regard is to understand the cybersecurity threats in the environment that are out there. This understanding can be developed via risk assessment and tabletop exercise with simulated evidence injected into the organization that should trigger incidence response plans.

This webinar is designed for help executives throughout a healthcare organizations better understand the level and types of cybersecurity threats they face in this current environment, and the implications for their organizations from preparing, or failing to prepare to respond; along with how to best develop a response plan in advance.
