Piedmont Healthcare is a large hospital system in the Atlanta area, four of their hospitals are DNV GL Healthcare certified stroke centers – a designation they have held for the last 5 years. Since the date of certification and with each annual survey, the hospitals have experienced substantial growth through improved delivery of safe and top-notch quality stroke care.

Tim Hehr RN, BSN MA SCRN serves DNV GL as Lead Stroke
Auditor & Technical Advisor. Tim has over 30 years of nursing experience in a variety of ICU, ED, Cath Lab, Tele-stroke/Tele-ICU, and stroke nursing positions. He started with DNV GL in early 2016 under contract as a part-time Stroke Technical Advisor and joined DNV GL as a full-time auditor in February 2017.
Prior to his position with DNV GL, Tim was the Stroke and Tele-stroke Coordinator at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was instrumental in achieving DNV GL Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification for Abbott Northwestern and has been active in state-wide and regional stroke initiatives.
Tim earned his Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and his Masters of Arts in Management from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. He earned his Master's Degree while serving as a Captain in the USAF Nurse Corp at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.
In February 2014, Tim achieved certification from the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing (ABNN) as a Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN). He currently sits on the ABNN Test Development Committee for the SCRN exam.

Debbie Camp, RN, MHA, SCRN, ASC-BC is a stroke program manager at Piedmont Newnan Hospital where she facilitated the hospitals initial stroke designation in 2015. She assisted with developing both the Georgia Stroke Core Curriculum and SCRN review courses which are being taught across Georgia. Debbie is an active member of the Georgia State Office of EMS Advisory Council and Coverdell Steering Committee.
Prior to her employment at Piedmont Newnan Hospital, she was the stroke coordinator at Atlanta Medical Center where she was the first chair of the Tenet Stroke Collaborative which provided education and networking to stroke champions promoting best practices throughout the Tenet Healthcare system. For her leadership in stroke care she was inducted into the Tenet Hall of Fame in 2011, Georgia Coverdell awarded her the first "Star Award" in 2012 and recognized as the Volunteer of the Year for AHA/ASA in 2014. She has presented at multiple conferences across the country including ISC and AHA QCRO Scientific Sessions. Her passion is mentoring stroke champions, collaborating with EMS and educating the community regarding the recognition, treatment and prevention of stroke.
